Absolute Sound : Napa Acoustic NA-208A Hybrid Integrated Voted Most Significant - T.H.E. SHOW NEWPORT: ELECTRONICS SHOW REPORT
Reviewed by Spencer Holbert | Jun 06th, 2015

The Napa Acoustic NA-208A 25W integrated might be a mere $399, yet this tiny little hybrid produced a seductive soundstage and lots of image detail and depth when paired with Napa’s NA-208S mini monitors ($199/pr.). Listening was nearfield from the comfort of a modified recliner that featured “wings” atop which the speakers were placed The “wings” are hinged and allow for easy toe-in adjustments without leaving the chair. I didn’t have the opportunity to listen in a traditional listening position, but with the speakers about four feet away and toed in forty-five degrees, the system was rich with life, musicality, and produced sound quality far beyond my expectations. I discovered the room more by accident than anything; but I’m glad the lack of racks and floorstanders didn’t scare me away, as I was rewarded with a sonic treat. Total system cost, including the NA-208C CD player ($399) and NA-208S speakers? $1000. If that’s not a bargain in today’s high-end world, I don’t know what is. See Article

NA-208A Napa Acoustic NA-208A Integrated Amplifier Reviewed by: Andrew Robinson, February 22, 2012

I'm a closet tube freak and, while much of my day may be spent extolling the virtues of solid state devices and/or the latest video technology, I jump on any chance I get to spend time with tubes. Following this year's CES show in Vegas, I came away with two such tube products that I had to review, the first being Napa Acoustic's NA-208A Integrated Amplifier. At $399 direct, the NA-208A was among the most affordable products I laid eyes on at the show and, if I'm honest, one of the more impressive, too .Read More

Unless you happened upon the Wharfedale room at CES this year, chances are you've never heard of Napa Acoustic. A fairly new company, Napa Acoustic is primarily an Internet direct (though I hear they're beginning to open dealers) audiophile manufacturer/distributor of tube-based amplifiers, integrated amplifiers and source components that seek to provide consumers with the most bang for their buck, with prices starting at $299 and topping out at $1,199. The subject of this review, Napa Acoustic's desktop CD player, the NA-208C, retails for a scant $399 . Read More

MT-34 Napa Acoustic MT-34 Integrated Amplifier Reviewed

While there were an awful lot of high-ticket items at this year's CES show in Las Vegas, it was the event's more affordable offerings that really caught my eye. As luck would have it, two of the CES' biggest values were actually exhibiting together: English speaker manufacturer Wharfedale and newcomer Napa Acoustics. While currently an Internet-direct company, Napa Acoustic used this past CES as a sort of coming-out party, not only for the press, but for dealers as well. While I hope they don't abandon their Internet-direct business model, and with it their low, low prices, I will tell you this much: at the prices at which they sell their audiophile integrated amps and CD player, they have no right to sound as good as they do. Case in point and the subject of this review, Napa Acoustic's MT-34 tubed integrated amp, which at $1,199 is the most expensive product Napa offers. Read More

Napa Acoustic MT-34 Integrated Amplifier -$1,199
While the MT-34 from little known upstart, Napa Acoustic, may not be a bespoke piece of audiophile jewelry in the way say Audio Research or McIntosh is, it more than makes up for it in performance -not to mention ease of use. For those who love tubes (who doesn't) but don't want to endure all the fuss associated with them the Napa Acoustic MT-34 integrated amplifier is a fine, affordable solution. It's build quality is surprisingly robust and its sound, well, will surprise you. We mated it with the Wharfedale Jade 1 bookshelf speakers and found it to be arguably all the high-end sound any budding audiophile would need. At least to get started. Read More

Over the years, I have seen audio gear manufacturers come and go and it is a great thing to see new blood infused into our industry. The consumer is now very well conditioned to get the most they can for their hard earned dollar, more so now in this difficult economy. As many of you know, getting the best value/performance ratio is always on my radar and I enjoy sharing my thoughts about gear that fits this profile. Enter Napa Acoustic, a company that also shares these same values by bringing high quality products to market that are affordable for all music lovers.

Napa Acoustic was formed in August of 2009 as a design and production company focused on building and selling acoustic room treatments and audio equipment. Also in 2009, Napa Acoustic chose to represent Mistral Audio in the United States, an audio manufacturer from China. Mistral Audio has more than 10 years of experience in designing and producing high quality audio products and they have collaborated with Napa Acoustic to design several of the offerings that they represent here in America. The company is recognized worldwide, earning high marks for their equipment and loudspeakers and have now started targeting the United States marketplace. By offering innovative audio products at affordable prices, Napa Acoustic and Mistral Audio hope to make a successful entry into this tough and crowded market. Read More

Bow-A2 Mistral Bow-A2 Speaker
Reviewed by: Terry London, November 15, 2012

After reading the very favorable reviews of Napa Acoustic's MT-34 Integrated Tube Amplifier and NA-208c CD Player by Home Theater Review managing editor Andrew Robinson, I became aware of this company's existence for the first time. When I went to its website, I saw that it also imports a speaker brand called Mistral. When I contacted Joseph Kwong, the owner/designer of Napa Acoustic, he recommended that I review the reference Bow-A2 floor-standing model, which retails for $2,299 per pair. By reading Andrew's two reviews of the Napa Acoustic pieces, I was expecting a tremendous bang for the buck ratio. As you will see, the Bow-A2 speaker turned out to be one of the greatest surprises I have had in my reviewing experience since I became a member of the staff here at HomeTheaterRerview.com.
